after the huge succes of its tenth release (davide squillace & guti), hideout is back with with the third slice of the deconstruction revisited series. this time, crocodile tears, which appeared on davide squillaces tutti frutti ep (ho003) got offered three amazing relectures. it all starts with mr robert dietz (cadenza, cecille ...), who delivers a super modern and energetic relecture, where intelligent synthetic percussions mess around with weird noises and processed effects. after two minutes a monophonic synths starts its battle with vocals from squillaces original to end up on a more minimal groove. gflame aka portugese techno start cisco ferreiras (the advent) relecture directly sets the tone: a nasty bassline with a crazy synth stab flies over a soft but very heavy techno beat, to evolve to an elegant tech house track (no bongos involved). finally sis, the man behind cocolino imprint, reinterpretation starts with a long intro with the kick dropping after more than 3 minutes. the melancholic feeling of the track builds into a very subtile beat with reverbered elements all over. the percussion layers and delicate melodic synths add some organic flavour to the music so the 14 minutes remix is never boring and takes you to a nice journey thru sounds. you can tell somebody was in love when making such a beautiful song. another must have from hideout!

oh boy.... mw are really spoiling us with the crazy electronics, following on from the recent philippe laurent release, this time its a japanese pioneer whos music has been lovingly restored, and just in time, by all accounts (read below). another classic on minimal wave, delivered on transparent vinyl.

this 7 inch record released by lo fi funk records contains two skweee tracks which are going deeper in the main lines that this artist has been developing in previous productions. poly july is low tempo track with vibrant synth lines built over a minimalist rnb drums base, resulting in an hipnotic beat with pure funky flashes. moon braggin is full of huge sub bass waves, typical of the new club music and crazy, doubled tempo percussion tracks which forms a mental song, with an epic atmosphere made with floatting oriental synthesizers tunes.

systematic welcomes the polish producer duo pol_on from warsaw who are comprised of kacper bogacz and michal piotrowski. after having released several cool 12 inches on freerange, mothership and get physical the first collabo with systematic recordings was a remix they have prepared for spirit catcher. the a side track >were lost< sounds like an energetic mutation of aphex twin after having played too much with powerful house grooves and >heavy rain< on the flip side sounds like a hybrid of old imagination e-piano samples paired with deep house chords in combination with slightly delayed but ass kickin soul grooves. pretty crazy and unpredctable but hey, systematic is kind of the same, isnt it?

raf pisani and marco conte, aka audiomatiques, have long been involved in techno but its since they began working together as audiomatiques that everything began to click. together with roberto capuano, an artist who has already released for loose, claque musique, monique musique and suara, the duo have delivered 3 sterling tracks, which are backed by a remix from rino cerrone, for loose. cerrone takes full advantage of his position as label boss and places his remix of >so bad< in pole. its a walloping but low slung affair riddled with hypnotic rises and false drops which build incredible tension. in original form, >so bad< is a pounding affair. the focus is centred around an unholy bass heavy kick with just the minimum of percussive flourishes and vocal effects doing the rest with aplomb. >mind trip<, while equally as heavy, is fluid and slick. swinging tribal vibes and some clever effects work paired with an airtight arrangement makes for a surefire club burner. finally, the bizarre yet compelling leads of the aptly titled >crazy synth< close proceedings with a fever-dream fervour. original and memorable, this is a genuinely anthemic cut.
